Hey, I’m Doug!
AMGA-certified Single Pitch Instructor and Apprentice Rock Guide
I specialize in guiding rock climbing experiences throughout the Front Range, from introductory days at local crags to technical multi-pitch objectives.
My passion is helping climbers of all levels build the skills and confidence they need to move safely and efficiently on rock. Whether you’re looking to try climbing for the first time, refine your trad technique, or tackle a new route on your climbing tick list, I aim to create a supportive, fun, and educational experience every step of the way.
My climbing journey began in 2015 when I started working as a climbing instructor at my college's climbing gym. After moving to Colorado, I began guiding in 2022 through Golden Mountain Guides.
I strive to be a well-rounded guide with experience in alpine climbing, ski touring, ice climbing, and overnight backcountry conditions. My professional scope is within the rock world.
When I’m not guiding, you’ll find me working on my garden, fly fishing, or exploring new corners of the Colorado mountains.

Environmental Stewardship and Involvement with Trail Cleanup + Rebolting

I love climbing because it’s a lifelong journey of learning — every route teaches us something new about ourselves and the natural world around us. The problem-solving and decision-making process is complex, and building the innate ability to make the right choice takes time. For me, it’s never been about chasing the hardest grades. I get the most joy from moving efficiently through terrain, solving problems on the wall, and helping others discover what they’re capable of. The best days aren’t just about summits — they’re about sharing experiences, spending time outdoors, and creating memories in incredible places.
